This summer studio was a mass timber focused studio with an emphasis on educational resources. We met with forestry professionals and mass timber educators to help with the production of a book. This studio was in four parts for the research that was conducted and a critical intersection that displayed our findings. The initial projects in the studio was research on light wood framing, Type IV-C, and egress as it pertained to mass timber. By creating drawings of details and case studies, we explored the potential of mass timber. The final element of this studio was an example of all of the above working together in one portion of a building, shown first.
